Latest green technology joins FleetEurope’s own fleet

Looking to lead by example, FleetEurope has welcomed the latest green technology to their personal fleet with Carlos Montero, Commercial Director, opting to run the Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) for the next three years.

“At FleetEurope, we provide advice to customers based on real world experience. More are asking about and embracing the latest technology on their own fleets and turn to us for advice. Having hands-on access and first-hand experience is vital and something we can extend to our existing customers and prospects before committing.

“First impressions are good; it’s fairly conventional and an enjoyable, comfortable car to drive. Being an automatic adds to this, and it’s very quiet when running on electric-only mode. The handling for a larger car is also better than I expected.

“I personally like the style and design of the car. It doesn’t look unconventional however is smart enough to make an impression in the car park, whether that is with a client or back at base.

“The four-wheel drive system is also a desirable perk, even if it’s only for reassurance when the weather deteriorates. Of course, the Benefit-in-Kind advantages are a big draw and without doubt one of the main reasons the model has become a popular choice with company car drivers.

“One thing I have noticed is that the car does change your driving style and habits. You quickly learn how to get the most from the hybrid drivetrain and run on electric-only mode. This is the best way to get the most out of the Outlander’s drivetrain, not to mention the cheapest and cleanest mileage.

“I’ve also got used to plugging the car in at night. At first, it was a bit of a chore but now it’s just a habit, incentivised by the savings available to travelling on EV-only mode. This is the type of experience we were looking to gain from running the Outlander to provide genuine, real day-to-day advice before our customers and prospects make their decision.”
