Joe Howick joined the FleetEurope board in March 2016 as chief operating officer. He is responsible for driving the strategic growth of the business and creating maximum value for its shareholders. FleetEurope has achieved unprecedented levels of growth since his appointment and is on track to reach its target of more than doubling its annual revenue in 2020.

Key strategic milestones achieved over the past two years include over 250 new customer acquisitions, recruitment of key industry talent, system development, marketing initiatives, multiple award wins, strengthening supplier relationships and the development of FleetEurope’s existing service offering to provide additional value to customers.

Joe previously spent 19 years at Zenith (formerly Leasedrive Group) before it was acquired by private equity investor HgCapital in 2013. Joe remained an investor in Zenith up until the business was acquired by Bridgepoint in 2014 in a transaction totalling £750 million.

He was a key member of the senior management team at Leasedrive, helping grow the business, which was valued at £7m in 2003 and sold in 2013 for a value in excess of £100m. Leasedrive’s total managed fleet size also grew from 3,600 vehicles to over 40,000 vehicles, earning the business eighth position in the FN50, a top 40 position in the 2014 Sunday Times Profit Track 100 list and the coveted Value Creation award.

During his time at Leasedrive Joe was involved in the successful acquisition and merger of Velo and Masterlease and worked alongside former private equity investors Lyceum Capital and LDC to increase shareholder value and ensure the seamless integration of both businesses.

Joe is a keen cyclist and runner, regularly taking part in fundraising events, including running the Berlin marathon three years in a row for ABF The Soldiers Charity.
