The Outward Bound Trust renews 20-strong Minibus fleet with FleetEurope

Educational charity The Outward Bound Trust, has again renewed its 20-strong fleet of Ford Transit Minibuses with FleetEurope as part of a four year contract hire arrangement.

The new fleet is being used to transport course participants and instructors to various remote locations from the Trust’s residential centres based in the Lake District, the west coast of Wales and the Scottish Highlands.

The 17-seater vehicles are powered by Euro 6 compliant diesel engines and equipped with a rear view camera, reverse parking sensors, tow bar, butterfly step, seat covers and personalised with vehicle livery promoting the Trust’s brand.

As part of the deal, the Trust will also benefit from FleetEurope’s tailored fleet management services, including fixed cost servicing and maintenance, vehicle acquisition and disposal, tyre, windscreen and breakdown cover, plus a dedicated account manager and customer service team.

FleetEurope has introduced a number of cost savings and efficiencies for the Trust’s fleet, including a £10,000 saving achieved by re-allocating vehicles across different sites and extending contracts from three to four years. FleetEurope also saved the Trust over £7,000 recently by successfully assessing, advising and contesting end of contract damage recharges directly with the introduced funder of the vehicles on the Trust’s behalf.

Chief commercial officer Carlos Montero at FleetEurope commented: “We are delighted that the Trust has renewed its fleet with us for a further four years, which is testament to the confidence it has in our customer service delivery. We have enjoyed a long-standing relationship since 2012 and are pleased to see this continuing in the future.”

Kim Parry, director of finance and resources at The Outward Bound Trust (pictured left) added: “It has been FleetEurope’s complete understanding of the Trust’s challenges over the years that was once again a key factor when it came to renewing the Minibus fleet. As a charity, all expenditure has to be justified and costs at every stage are examined critically.

“Our vehicles are a crucial element of the Trust’s day-to-day operations. They need to be robust and reliable to overcome the most challenging and remote environments, while also meeting the challenges of financial sustainability. FleetEurope recognises these challenges and has continued to deliver cost savings, operational efficiencies and unrivalled customer service over the years. We look forward to their continued support.”
